For Big Fleets & Small Niches

As an established name, Volvo offers something for all tastes

It doesn’t feel like that long since Volvo was itself the new name in town, but the Swedish manufacturer has been present in the UK bus market since the early 1970s. Now a very much established part of the coach and bus scene, the manufacturer has a range for all needs, including its BZL electric bus, produced in partnership with Egyptian bus builder MCV.

MCV is also responsible for Volvo’s in-house bus range, producing the impressive tri-axle EvoSeti double-decker on a B8L chassis which has found favour with independent operators needing something larger than standard for heavy passenger flows.

Its single-deck sister the B8RLE Evora is well-liked by operators nationwide as a popular, solid and dependable heavyweight bus.

Meanwhile, the coaches in its UK line-up offer different levels of style and power: the flagship 9700 range, of which the double-decker is proving popular with Scottish inter-city operators, is supplemented by the B8R-based MCV EvoTor.

Announced this summer and soon to appear in the flesh is the new Unvibodied, B13-based XL, available initially as a two-axle model and built at Unvi’s plant in Ourense, Spain.
