Vehicle Zone
Let’s face it, many of us go to shows to be wowed by the glitz and glamour of new vehicles, and why not?
They’re the face of the industry, and they’re the product that we, collectively, sell. Whether large or small, the modern coach and bus market has something for everyone. Those seeking a zero tailpipe emission future can choose from a glut of electric and hydrogen models, a technology that was still radical and emerging just a decade ago. It’s
quickly become mainstream.
Those for whom the zero-mission agenda isn’t yet practical can still enjoy a vast range of diesel-engine vehicles, again ranging in size from a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter up to a 15-metre tri-axle coach, and everything in between.
Alongside the manufacturers, we’re bringing you two CBW test drives, of very different recent coaches, whilst at EVM UK’s virtual stand, operator OTS’s Craig George shares his views of the new eCityline in use on local services.
Living as we do in a market where for many years the balance has been in the favour of importers rather than exporters, it’s good to see Wrightbus too, a company which has not only just launched its latest generation electric bus product for the home market but is actively pursuing opportunities in Europe for both coach and bus sales; for those of you who missed it, why not follow up our testmdrive of the Contour coach by reversing back down the road to issue 1702 and see what we make of Wrightbus’ left hand drive Hydroliner?
For now, though, please enjoy your virtual wander through our virtual hall of vehicles, and remember to check out our extra content at CBWShow.com and on our Coach & Bus Week YouTube channel, where you’ll find test drives galore.
